Awards Package
The awards will be presented at the AAHE Awards Ceremony held at the annual American Association for Health Education (AAHE) and American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD) Convention. All 12 award winning schools will receive:
- Travel stipend, convention registration fee, and luncheon ticket for a health education teacher to attend the AAHE/AAHPERD Convention, AAHE Awards Luncheon and Blue Apple Awards Recption
- Travel stipend for one-day guest registration, and luncheon ticket for the building principal to attend the AAHE Awards Luncheon and Blue Apple Awards Reception
- 1 year free membership to HealthTeacher plus on-line training for teachers
- 1 year free membership to the American Association for Health Education
- A recognition plaque and a banner for the school
- The names of all 12 award winning schools will be engraved on the plaque that is prominently displayed at the AAHE/AAHPERD office as an ongoing tribute to the contributions of the national health education award winning schools to the health and well being of their students
- Video feature on Blue Apple Award website and public relations campaign
The awards criteria are based on the best practices for the discipline as outlined in the National Health Education Standards: Achieving Excellence and the Characteristics of Effective Health Education Curricula (U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Adolescent and School Health).
